Online Virtual Robotics, Coding, AI, for Girls, Girl Scouts (2nd-5th grades) Thursday Classes
This class is open to Girl Scouts (2nd-5th grades) on Thursdays, 3:00 - 4:30 PM (MST).
Girl Scouts can learn to program a virtual robot and code using online coding software. By completing this course Girl Scouts 2nd-5th grades, can qualify for a robot programming badge or virtual coding or AI badge. Girl Scouts will have access to the coding software license until Spring 2021 and have the option to join virtual robotics competition.
What will you learn?
- Meet an industry mentor from Intel and hear their STEM journey story!
- Learn how to code to control and drive robots, speed racers, self-driving cars and join virtual robotics competitions! No prior experience necessary!
- Learn block programming, integrate touch sensors, ultrasonic sensors to your virtual robot!
- Get introduced to Autonomous Driving (AD), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and computer vision
- Badges can be purchased separately. This course will be taught online via zoom, by youth mentors from Education Empowers Inc. and experts from tech industry, who will be joining to share their STEM journey.
- Girl Scouts will have access to the coding software license until Spring 2021 and have the option to join virtual robotics competition through Coderz platform.
Dates: Thursdays 3:00-4:30 PM MST Arizona time
Choose any one of the sessions below. You do not have to attend all 3 sessions.
Session 1: October 2 classes. 10/22/2020 & 10/29/2020. (October 22 & 29)
Session 2: November 2 classes. 11/12/2020 & 11/19/2020. (November 12 & 19)
Students will have the option to join virtual robotics competition to continue their learning!
Time: 3:00 - 4:30PM Arizona Time (MST) on Thursdays. Upon completing this registration form, parents will receive a zoom link to join in real time. Parents will need to be present for the first 15 -20 minutes to assist with login and screen setup.
Location: Online video conferencing Zoom platform with security features.
Technology Required: Please note this program requires internet access, a PC or MAC, or Chromebook with the latest Chrome browser and a minimum 64 bit CPU and 4 GB RAM (8 GB preferred).
